Hey there Fashionistas! Remember a few weeks back when we shared the new Disney Dooney and Bourke designs? You know, the ones that feature Tiana from Princess and the Frog, and Madame Leota from The Haunted Mansion? Great, now that we are all on the same page, I have some great news! An official launch date for the two new designs has been announced. Mark your calendars for July 22, 2017 – it’s going to be a fashionable day!
According to the Disney Parks Blog, there will be a release party held on July 22 in the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs for the two newest designs. At the release party, guests can shop the two new collections and meet Ian Ray, Creative Director for Dooney & Bourke. Ray will be available from from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. that day, so make sure to show up early!
Disney Parks Blog also spoke with Angelique Vu, Merchandise Product Developer for Accessories, about her favorite new design.
“I love the Princess Tiana tote,” exclaimed Angelique. “This is the second release in our ‘Dream Big, Princess’ collection which followed the ‘Beauty and the Beast’-inspired collection from earlier this year. The new tote contains a beautiful engineered design meaning the Princess Tiana image will appear the same on all totes we release. Guests will also find a repeating pattern on the top and bottom of the tote, and a specially designed leather hangtag.”
This print is simply incredible! Artwork for the Princess Tiana handbags was created by Paola Gutierrez, Senior Graphic Designer with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group. I really really really love that Tiana is finally getting her own design – this one will definitely be mine! But choosing which silohuette will be a little harder. It’s great to see that there are 2 different images for the 3 bags being released for this particular collection. The silhouettes are crossbody ($228) , tote ($268) and the foldover crossbody ($178). The new foldover crossbody is a different style than we have seen in past few collections, which is awesome!
And now onto a fan favorite – The Haunted Mansion. There is no denying that this classic Disney attraction has a very loyal following. And now, Haunted Mansion fans rejoice! Another Dooney and Bourke designed inspired by the Haunted Mansion attraction is coming! Also designed by Paola, these purple handbags include images of Madame Leota and other icons from this classic Disney attraction.
The silhouettes are the shopper ($268), wristlet ($98) and the letter carrier ($198). Um, can I get all three please?
If you are a looking for something a bit, well, cheaper – the Madame Leota design will also appear on a limited release retail MagicBand, which will be presented in a specially designed box. These items, with the exception of the retail MagicBand, will be released at Disneyland Resort on July 22.
I really hope that means that these designs will soon be available online! My next trip to Disney isn’t until February and I simply cannot wait that long! If you don’t want to risk it, our preferred personal shopper is taking preorders.
