I admit that I am not a big hat or headpiece wearer but this new collection of Tinker Bell headpieces from Alexandra Harper Millinery could change that. This London, UK designer has created five headpieces that are inspired by our favorite pixie. I am seriously wishing I had a derby or wedding to attend in the very near future. Ms Millinery had previously designed a collection of Maleficent-inspired headpieces, which was also fabulous, but today we are going to take a peak at her newest collection.
Let’s start by keeping in mind that none of these headpieces are for the every day. They are sensational pieces of art, and the price tag does reflect that, and need to be respected for their creativity and craftsmanship. The pieces in this collection range from 330-550 pounds(or $527 to $878 US Dollars), and they are available from the UK. Many of the pieces include hand-cut designs and are all very intricately put together. The first in the collection depicts all of the above. Crystalline Wings is a piece that has translucent, hand-crafted wings … straight out of Pixie Hollow. This piece is quite artsy but it is inspired. I am a fan.
Enchantment is a pillbox hat with a fabulous hand-beaded star which, I assume, depicts Tinker Bell’s world that lies beyond the second star to the right. Yellow tufts of tulle add more volume to this hat. It is a little more wearable, for those that don’t have a big adventurous side.
Forest Flight is a very wearable piece that appears black until you take a closer look at it and realize it is green. It has hand cut leather leaves and a metallic green platter headpiece. It is a hat for the daring and sophisticated.
Midnight Dust is a very detailed and stunning piece of art that even has a silhouette of Tinker Bell on the front. It is a headpiece that requires elastic and clear combs to secure it in place. Gold beading, laser cut and gold leaf are just a few of the details. I quite enjoy this piece and, even though it’s a little bolder than the last two in my opinion, I could rock it!
Spirit of Neverland (see above) is a fun, springy piece that I will absolutely need to obtain prior to spring. It is covered in hand-tooled flowers and also has an engraved Tinker Bell silhouette. The pastel colors remind me of the freshness of spring and Easter and is probably my favorite piece.
What do you all think of this Tinker Bell inspired collection? Are any of these headpieces something you would wear? Let me know what you think in the comment box below!
