After running the Tower of Terror Ten Miler last weekend and staring at my beautiful medal (the elevator moves!), I decided that I should keep on going. I mean, why stop here? There are many other gorgeous medals to be had by runDisney and I enjoy some good bling! At the expo, the newest medals to be had were available to see up close and personal. I decided everyone should be able to see them!!
If you are one of the thousands of runners training for an event at the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna, see above for the medals that you have coming your way.
From the runDisney Kids’ Races and Mickey Mile, to the Dopey Challenge medal, I think you’ll agree with me that these finisher medals are fabulous and blingy…. definitely worth all the training you’ve surely been doing.
I am sure most runDisney fans are aware that this January marks the 10th anniversary of Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge. Runners participate in the half marathon on Saturday and the marathon on Sunday, 39.3 miles over 2-days. Once they cross the finish line of the marathon, they not only receive a marathon medal, but they also earn the commemorative anniversary Goofy medal! I can’t speak for everyone, but I know that if I am going to log those kind of miles and hours I definitely want some extra fabulous bling at the end of it all. For me, this doesn’t disappoint. This one of a kind medal features a spinning Goofy in the middle and clearly commemorates the 10th anniversary. If you are up for the challenge, registration remains open for the Goofy Challenge.
If you thought that it was too late to register for any of the events on 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna, like I did, I am thrilled to tell you it’s not too late! There are still a very limited number of marathon registrations that remain open as part of the Goofy Giveback, a unique opportunity that re-opened marathon registration for 39 days, representing the number of miles covered in the Goofy Challenge. Your chance to take part in the marathon, if you haven’t already registered, is scheduled to close on October 24th, or until the race reaches capacity.
If you are interested in registering for the Goofy Challenge or the Walt Disney World Marathon, visit runDisney.com.
I hope you like the medals as much as I did! I am currently not entered in a race for this event but now that I see the medals, I am seriously considering it. What are your thoughts? Do you like this years medals??
