The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2016 is almost here. I cannot believe how quickly time flies! I am a little sad about the fact that I am not running a runDisney event in 2016. 2016 is going to be crazy busy with everything else going on. What makes me happy is seeing all the new 2016 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend merchandise! My 2014 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend Dooney and Bourke is one of my absolute favorites and I am super excited to share the 2016 designs with you now.
The design of the 3 styles above is a black background with bright blue, green and pink icons. Mickey Mouse and Goofy running around, the castle, Spaceship Earth and other important icons from around the Parks can be found scattered about. There are three designs, as seen above, but I am a little surprised there is not a letter carrier style available. I am hoping that it was just left out of the picture!
I know the close up is a bit blurry but it gives you a better idea than the previous photos. I am not sure how I feel about this print as I tend to enjoy the lighter backgrounds better. This print would hold up well, though, with errands etc.
The merchandise from any runDisney event can be rather difficult to obtain. For most of it, you need to be registered to have the best chance of getting your hands on it. Many of you know how this works already. You can only get the handbags at the runDisney expos. It’s the same as it is for the new balance shoes. The difference between the handbags and the shoes is that you can actually preorder the handbag of your choice, which you cannot do for the shoes… yet.
What does all the mean for you? Well, it means that there is a much smaller availability of the handbags at the event for purchase since they know many of the clientele preordered. I can speak from experience, as I purchased a bag at the Walt Disney World Marathon expo in 2014, that the bags are limited and sell out quickly. I bought one of 15 that were left by mid afternoon the first day of the expo. I had a friend meet me there and she decided she wanted one only a an hour or so later. You can see where this is going. There were none left. Let me say this, if you are registered to run a race at this event, preorder your bag!!! If you are not, and you happen to be attending the expo, head to the Dooney & Bourke kiosk first. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. They will most likely be gone before the end of the first day.
If you are not going to be there, and you are still wanting this Dooney and Bourke bag (or any of the other merchandise like the New Balance Shoes), you can still possibly get your hands on them. The items to open up to the public at the Expos after the second day, usually, and the personal shoppers of the world are there to make your dreams come true.
