Disney Parks Blog released some fabulously foul details regarding the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. Get ready for some fiendishly fun ways to interact with the scoundrels you love to loathe aboard the Heroes and Villains themed ship. Villainous Entertainment is your Destiny!
The Grand Hall
The very first glimpse of artwork depicting the Grand Hall was released. Inspired by Marvel’s Black Panther, it promises to be a space where guests will be “immersed in the epic duality of good and evil as the environment transforms throughout the cruise.” The Hall can literally transform from its bright hero vibe, which it has most of the day, and then morph suddenly into a mythical realm of mystery. The ever-changing space responds to the arrival of various characters, including Loki, who might regale you with his storytelling or recruit you for a competition.
Cruella De Vil
The ruthless villain, Cruella de Vil is the inspiration for the Piano bar, and I couldn’t be more excited! However, you can also engage with the fashionista in two brand-new entertainment experiences. The first is a fashion runway experience where she gives her brutally honest opinions. With the second being an opportunity to help the treble-maker rewrite her notorious theme song.
Hercules
Whereas we knew Hercules would be the Broadway style show aboard the Destiny, we’re now getting more details regarding the show. Disney Parks Blog reports It “will stay true to the story and spirit of the beloved film with a fresh, contemporary retelling centered around the legendary soundtrack.” Not only will the original songs from the movie be included, “Disney Hercules” will debut “Shooting Star,” a heartfelt ballad originally written for the movie by Alan Menken and David Zippel. Award-winning puppet designer Michael Curry, who worked on “Disney The Tale of Moana” on the Treasure, brings his creativity to the Destiny. His design can be seen on the mythological behemoths, like the multi-headed Hydra monster.
Beware of dark corners of the ship, as you never know who might be lurking. It’s rumored that Dr. Facilier will be partaking in parlor tricks of the sleight of hand in the Grand Hall. Maleficent shall be holding court and uttering incantations at Saga entertainment lounge.
