Are you ready to travel the world? Well then get ready to run! The 2017 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend is just around the corner and new medals have arrived just in time. The new designs take inspiration from the upcoming Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and feature travel-themed designs. So pack your bags and lace up your running shoes; it’s time to race around the world.
The first event to kick off the weekend is the Disney Fall Feast 5K. Here, runners can earn a festive medal that features a design inspired by the harvest season. I love the bright and cheerful orange color used for this medal. The deep orange is the perfect color for celebrating Fall.
Are you ready to run a little further? Gear up for the Disney Wine & Dine 10K where you can earn one of three travel-themed medals. The first designs features a decorative luggage tag. Now, I wouldn’t suggest actually attaching this medal to your luggage, but I do suggest displaying it proudly!
Do you want to tackle the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon? After you finish the 13.1 mile trip through Walt Disney World resort, you can earn this next medal that takes the form of a plane ticket. Completing a half marathon is definitely a reward in itself, but it’s always good to know that a prize is waiting for you at the end of things.
Now, we already know that Epcot is celebrating is 35th anniversary this year. In celebration, participants of the Disney Two Course Challenge (which includes completing both the 10K and Half Marathon), will earn stamps with a passport-inspired medal.
This medal is probably my favorite of all the new designs. I love how the passport themed is tied together with other elements like the original EPCOT Center logo. If you look closely, you can also pick out “stamps” from featured countries around the World Showcase.
And of course, Disney wants to get the kids involved! For guests who are 13 years old and younger, the runDisney Kids Race has a new medal this year. The new designs features a fan favorite, Figment. This brightly colored medal is sure to be a fan favorite this year!
And you ready to run? There’s still a chance to earn your Disney Wine & Dine 10K, Half Marathon, or Two Course medals. Spaces are also still available for the runDisney Kids Races. Will you be participating in this year’s events? Which medals will you be racing for? Tell me all about it in the comments.
