The Great Gonzo has never been known for subtlety, so it seems only fitting that his latest starring role comes in the form of a seriously impressive luxury timepiece! Oris has teamed up with Disney’s The Muppets once again for the new ProPilot X Gonzo Edition. It’s a colorful mechanical watch packed with clever details inspired by everyone’s favorite daredevil.
This marks the third Muppets collaboration from Oris, following previous watches celebrating Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. This time, Gonzo gets the spotlight, and his personality is worked into the design in some wonderfully unexpected ways.
Oris ProPilot X Gonzo Edition Watch
The watch is based on the Oris ProPilot X Calibre 115. It features a 44mm multi-piece titanium case and matching titanium bracelet. The skeletonized dial puts the inner workings of the watch on full display, while a gradient of blue, purple, red, orange and yellow brings plenty of Gonzo-worthy color to the otherwise industrial design.
The Fun Is In the Details
Look closely at the power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock and you’ll notice that the red hand is shaped like a chili pepper. The quirky addition was inspired by one of Gonzo’s favorite shirts and feels perfectly suited to the Muppet’s wonderfully eccentric personality. The indicator tracks the watch’s impressive 10-day power reserve, powered by Oris’ hand-wound Calibre 115 movement.
But Gonzo himself is hiding inside the watch!
As the wearer winds the crown and the mainspring tightens, Gonzo’s smiling face gradually appears on the mainspring at approximately 11 o’clock. It’s the kind of detail you might completely miss at first glance, making it an especially fun Easter egg for Muppets fans.
The watch also features a shimmering laser-treated dial ring that changes appearance depending on the light. Combined with the exposed gears and colorful framework, there is something appropriately chaotic about the finished design. It feels much more like Gonzo than simply placing his face prominently on the dial would have.
Beyond all of the Muppets magic, this is still a serious Swiss mechanical watch. The ProPilot X Gonzo Edition features sapphire crystal, 10-bar water resistance, small seconds at 7:30, the non-linear power reserve indicator and a transparent sapphire caseback. It also arrives in a special luxury wooden presentation box.

Between the rainbow-inspired dial, chili pepper hand, exposed mechanical movement and hidden Gonzo face, this might be one of the most elaborate Muppets accessories we’ve seen.
