The Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend will be here before we know it, as it takes place August 31- Sept 3, 2017 at Disneyland. I am extra excited because this year Pixar will be celebrated and that means some wicked awesome merchandise!
I love that many of my fave Pixar characters and films are being represented. I think Pixar has made some incredible films and the characters are always super fun. Fun is exactly what I need to help me get through a half marathon. That could be why I only run runDisney half marathons! The Merchandise Product Developer had this to say about this year’s merchandise:
“We had fun developing products for the Pixar-themed event this year,” explained Mary. “We included characters from ‘Toy Story,’ ‘Monsters, Inc.,’ and ‘The Incredibles’ in the artwork, which is something we haven’t previously featured at a runDisney event. Guests will find popular returning items such as ‘I Did It’ shirts, pins, and car magnets. We are also introducing several new things including Tervis drinkware and a Pixar-themed runDisney medal holder.”
I find it somewhat ironic that The Disneyland 5K items will feature Mrs. And Mr. Incredible and their family. I mean, Dash is a part of this family and he can go way further than 5K!
Some of our favorite scarers from Monstropolis, Mike and Sulley, will be found on Disneyland 10K products. Look for apparel, pins, and magnets.
I am not one to run more than one event on a runDisney weekend but there are many fashionistas that do this! This year marks the 5th Anniversary of the Disneyland Double Dare, the ultimate challenge that combines the 10K on Saturday with the Half Marathon on Sunday. For the fashionistas daring enough to complete this task, there is some fab merchandise to choose from! Select items created for this races will include a 5th Anniversary logo found in the artwork.
Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jesse from “Toy Story” are showcased on products for the Disneyland Half Marathon. I really love how young and fun these looks are! The products will include shirts, a zip jacket, car magnet, and pins.
Of course, as a fashionista, I am all about the shoes! I haven’t heard of any new runDisney New Balance designs as of yet but this show ornament will do quite nicely. This is not a Pixar shoe but it is a nod to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland which is where the event takes place. Makes sense to me!
I have not yet seen the Dooney and Bourke purses to commemorate this runDisney weekend but one can only hope that they will be Pixar inspired, like the rest of the merchandise! I have a feeling those would be very hard to get ones hands on.
Look for these items and more at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo in the Disneyland Hotel Exhibit Hall during the following dates and times:
- August 31 – 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- September 1 – Noon – 8 p.m.
- September 2 – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
