I have mentioned on FB this week that I am going to help you show you Disney side at your Oscar party. I am not sure if many of you throw an Oscar party but mine is pretty legendary. I actually have people fly in for the event. I keep it small and I keep it classy. Later this week, I will give you a step by step on how to make your Oscar party off the charts. Before we do that, it’s important to know what Disney movies have been nominated so that you can decide how to show your Disney side at your Oscar party!! Let’s take a look at the nominations!
Actress in a Supporting Role—Meryl Streep, Into the Woods
Animated Feature Film—Big Hero 6, Don Hall, Chris Williams and Roy Conti
Costume Design—Into the Woods, Colleen Atwood AND Maleficent, Anna B. Sheppard and Jane Clive
Makeup and Hairstyling—Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou and David White
Production Design—Into the Woods, Dennis Gassner (Production Design) and Anna Pinnock (Set Decoration)
Short Film (Animated)—Feast, Patrick Osborne and Kristina Reed
Visual Effects—Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Dan DeLeeuw, Russell Earl, Bryan Grill and Dan Sudick, AND Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Stephane Ceretti, Nicolas Aithadi, Jonathan Fawkner and Paul Corbould.
Many of you may have done the math on this and realized Disney can only come home with 7 Oscars, if it were to win all the categories with nominations. There are 2 categories with a double nomination which just means a better chance of taking home the golden statue! You may also have noticed that there is no Oscar nod for best song or original score which we have dominated in many years past. I think many of us are still singing “Let It Go” from last year so I think I can let it slide.
Now, how do you show your Disney Side at your Oscar party, I have a top 10 list coming out later this week but I will give you a hint. Not everything at your Oscar party needs to be unique to that year nor does everything need to be stagnant each year. You can mix it up. I have some things that I can bring back each year and then some that I can keep people on their toes. I like to keep things fresh and new. In Part 2 of this, I will give 10 ways to show your Disney side and a multitude of ways to just make your Oscar party of the charts!
Are you excited for the Oscars?? Get ready because they will be here in two short weeks on February 22nd, 2015 at 7p.m. ET on ABC (of course!).

Nice to see Disney up for so many awards. I think it would be fun to have an Oscar party. Make the kids more excited to watch.
