When it comes to celebrating something as special as Disneyland’s 70th, I take things seriously! A magical outfit idea is something I work on from the moment I learn about the event! The outfit I wore to celebrate Disneyland’s special anniversary was the talk of the town! Please allow me to explain.
When I say the talk of the town, I’m talking about where the characters hang out at the start of Main Street USA. From Mickey to Minnie to Clarabelle, the characters instantly recognized what I was trying to do with my look, and that led to crazy fun character interactions for me!
When looking for the perfect pieces, I wanted to play with the colors in the Disneyland 70th character costumes, but not do full on cosplay. I still wanted to be me. The first piece I found were the Ears, and after that it all fell into place! As you can see, Minnie and I had a whole “conversation” about my look!
Mickey was actually the first character to notice I was playing off of Minnie’s look, and he was very excited! He was trying to take me over to Minnie (much to the dismay of the line waiting for him) but I told him not to worry, I was heading her way.
Clarabelle spotted me when she was going backstage, but her handler wouldn’t let her stop longer than for her to get the point across that she wanted to see me when she came back. When she did come back out, she saw me and literally led me across the street to the flagpole area while holding my hand and skipping. Then she was dancing and making me twirl. Talk about an incredible character interaction I will never forget!
Daisy is my girl. We had a blast posing and being sassy, and talking about our outfits. It’s not hard to tell I was having a blast. My point. I know it’s not for everyone, but a magical outfit idea can lead to the most magical moments! It’s worth the time it takes to put it together, and the memories and photos will last forever!
