Disney Parks Blog recently shared a ton of news about updates coming to the Disneyland Resort. Now, we have it all for you here! You can take a peek behind the curtain as we share all the details about upcoming updates and experiences headed to Disneyland.
Hotel News and Updates
All-New Theme Coming to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel
Disney Paradise Pier Hotel is one of the flagship hotels for Disneyland. Thousands of guests enjoy its theming and quick-access location to Disneyland. Now, it will begin a whole transformation that will feature a brand-new theme. Similar to Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure, the Paradise Pier Hotel will be reimagined with the artistry of Pixar.
According to Disney Parks Blog: “Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork, and décor that reveals the creative journey of the artists who helped bring these stories to life. Guests will be welcomed into whimsical character moments, like the iconic, playful Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball in the lobby.”
More Benefits for Hotel Guests
If you have ever stayed at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you already know that one of the benefits is direct access to Disney California Adventure Park. For guests who stay at the Disneyland Hotel, they already enjoy convenient Monorail access. Now, a walkway is currently under construction to give Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel guests a convenient entrance to Disney California Adventure Park as well!
Hey Disney!
Calling on Alexa has become a normal part of everyday life for many families. Now, guests can look forward to “Hey Disney!” It is a new kind of voice assistant which works alongside Alexa on Amazon Echo devices in Disneyland Resort hotel rooms. This new feature is designed to make your stay more convenient, engaging, and enjoyable.
Shop Until You Drop
Later this summer, guests of the Disneyland Resort hotels can look forward to the ability to send select theme park purchases back to their resort hotel. This means you can buy all the amazing merchandise and souvenirs you want without having to lug the bags around all day! This is a service that is already enjoyed by guests at Walt Disney World, and I am thrilled that this is headed to California now as well.
Early Access
Disney will begin to offer early entry access! Guests staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can be among the first to enter and begin enjoying select theme park attractions and experiences beginning later this summer. Again, this is a benefit that is already enjoyed by guests at Walt Disney World, so it totally makes sense to roll it out to the West Coast.
Downtown Disney District News
New and exciting shopping and dining experiences are coming to the west side of Downtown Disney District! According to Disney Parks Blog, the transformation will draw inspiration from Southern California mid-century modern architecture. The west-end area will blend vibrant color palettes, design elements, and patterns influenced by the region. It is set to include an open lawn for relaxation and future events and an even broader and diverse collection of dining and shopping.
Din Tai Fung Coming to Downtown Disney District
Din Tai Fung is a world-renowned restaurant. Now, it will join the district to offer guests their soup dumplings hand-crafted right-on site! This family-run restaurant will bring flavorful Chinese cuisine to Downtown Disney, where guests can enjoy dishes served family-style in a creative space near the new lawn pavilion.
Paseo and Centrico Coming to Downtown Disney District
Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan will bring his inclusive vision of Mexican cuisine to Paseo and Centrico in the locations currently occupied by Catal & Uva Bar. The restaurant and central courtyard bar and dining area will offer guests a multi-sensory journey to the heart of Chef Gaytan’s homeland.
Mexican cuisine is my absolute favorite, so I am super excited about this new piece of dining news! I cannot wait to taste my way through the new menu the next time I visit.
Evolution of Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen will undergo an evolution to incorporate California’s vibrant energy with a fresh approach to the menu. However, the plan is to still stay true to the heart of New Orleans as this is definitely a guest-favorite location.
Mickey’s Toontown News
We already knew that Mickey’s Toontown was experiencing an evolution of its own, but now we have more details! Mickey’s Toontown will debut with new experiences and more play for guests, with a focus on families and young children, in early 2023.
As a mom to a 2-year-old, I am loving this news and I cannot wait to see what the area has in store. I’m looking forward to letting my toddler explore during his first trip to Disneyland!
