On a recent trip to Florida, my sister and I embarked on a side journey to Lakeland, Florida. That’s the destination where an Antique Mall Offers Disney Treasure Hunting. There we delved into a bounty of Disney merchandise and memorabilia for hours of shopping and nostalgia.
Located at 3530 US Hwy 98 North, the Lakeland Antique Mall is a must visit location for the die-hard Disney fans, like my sister and I! Walking down the rows of the store was a literal walk down memory lane, especially for these Orlando born girls. The Antique Malls hosts stalls for various consigners of both new merchandise, collectibles, individual artistry, and resort discards. Above you’ll see a buggy used at Port Orleans for horse drawn carriage rides, along with “cars” used in theme park rides. Notice the Splash Mountain log used in the vendor’s display.
Resort Treasures
Ever wonder what Disney does with their furniture and decorations when they remodel? We discovered a sweet sepia wall print featuring Duffy that once hung at the Grand Floridian. Other bounty included star props from Pop Century and mirrors from the Animal Kingdom resort. There are even Christmas decorations used from past years available to purchase! Shelving containing cast-off pillows and bins of linens line the back of the store. I’m kicking myself for not purchasing a beige curtain with embroidered Mickey Mouse.
Disney Dishware
Do you have a Disney themed kitchen or simply want to add a hint of Disney to your decor? Check out these tables (wooden) and dishware with logos from Palo, Disney Cruise Line, “MGM”, and more. Prices ranged from $19/plate, upward.
Nostalgic Disney Treasure
From recent merchandise, you might have missed to nostalgic decor, booth after booth offered Disney themed everything. Some were new, while others were vintage pre-owned. Advertising posters as well as local artisans work can be purchased from around the mall.
Park Memorabilia
Cast member costumes from characters and parades throughout the years can be viewed as you explore the store. You can even purchase a part of Disney World’s Castle railing! That would look great on my balcony, just saying!
