Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be making it’s debut at Disneyland Resort this summer, and then Walt Disney World Resort this fall! D23 has revealed some Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Merchandise and shops we can look forward to experiencing!
Several unique merchandise locations can be found at Galaxy’s Edge to explore. Each shop will have its own unique experience and promises lots of fun you won’t find anywhere else. These galactic new locations include Black Spire Outfitters, Savi’s Workshop, the Droid Depot, the Creature Stall, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, Resistance Supply, First Order Cargo.
Black Spire Outfitters will offer guests the chance to get into the spirit of Star Wars with exclusive clothing items they can mix and match into their own galactic style.
Savi’s Workshop will bring a unique personalization to the build your own lightsaber experience! During a guided tour, each guest will have the option to choose from four Kyber Crystal options, which is the very heart of each lightsaber. You’ll have the opportunity to choose from: Peace Justice (modeled after Jedi from the Republic era); Power Control (a nod to the Sith); Elemental Nature (harnessing air, earth, fire, and water); and Defense (shrouded in mystery). Which crystal do you think you will be drawn to?
Located in the market will be the Droid Depot, a unique place where guests can pick parts and pieces off a conveyor belt to build and customize their very own astromech droids (R-series or BB-series). “But we already have Droid building stations” you might ask. Well, these Droids are a larger scale and capable of interacting with elements in the land and responding to guests’ behaviors. Additional programming chips and accessories can be added to the droids to further customize their abilities too.
The Droid Depot will also offer pre-built droids, including a C-3PO who is very talkative, and a Rex who uses Bluetooth to play whatever music you have on your smartphone. The shop will also offer droid-inspired products and more.
Guests looking to bring home a friendly, or maybe not so friendly “pet” from the Galactic Outpost Can find some unique, and fantastic beasts from all across the galaxy at the Creature Stall. Guests can bring home a new pal from a galaxy far like porgs, tauntauns, rathtars, and wampas.
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will offer a selection of mysterious and rare items for sale representing different eras of the Star Wars galaxy. Ancient Jedi and Sith artifacts like holocrons which were ancient repositories of wisdom will be available along with lightsabers, and more. A unique site will be Dok sitting at his desk, checking his inventory, taking calls, and barking orders at his assistants when you visit.
Guests can find a “makeshift” Resistance Supply resource location at the Resistance’s hidden command post. Guests will find badges, hats, pins, and other accessories to help them feel like part of the cause.
First Order Cargo can be found on the edge of the Market and is a temporary storage dock. Easily identified by a never-before-seen First Order TIE echelon, it gives interstellar tourists a chance to pledge their loyalty to the First Order by purchasing caps, gear, model ships, pins, and more.
Brad Schoeneberg, director, Merchandise Strategy & New Park Experience Development, Walt Disney World Resort, explained a bit about the First Order Cargo’s vendors. “This is the first place they touched down. They are trying to win the hearts and minds of locals with propaganda and merch.”
Brad Schoeneberg promised that you won’t find your average run of the mill Star Wars Merchandise at the Black Spire Outport, everything was created specifically for Galaxy’s Edge. Brad Schoeneberg explained “We’re giving today’s consumers an experience only we can deliver. These items reflect the stories of yore, as they’ve been told throughout Black Spire Outpost. With a vast array of innovative goods” he adds, “[There are] many levels of discovery.”
