Come on down to the bayou, with the new Tiana collection revealed at the D23 Expo by fashion designer Courtney Quinn from Color Me Courtney. Taken from her website, “Color Me Courtney is a vibrant fashion, entertainment, lifestyle and culture media company that is designed to empower others to “Dress Outside the Lines”, promote self-confidence, celebrate inclusivity and embrace all the special quirks that make you unique – all through Courtney’s love & affinity for Color. It’s the bright spot on the internet where the highly engaged Color Me Community can always find joy, whimsy, fun, love and support!” That mission statement is definitely apparent in the new Tiana line!
Dressing up in the Bayou
We’ll start with the Tulle Skirt and Puff dress. The ultra-feminine clothing takes you back to the era in which the movie takes place. The yellow floral smocked bodice of the Puff dress meets the peplum waist before cascading into a tiered skirt. Cascading layers of yellow, blue, and green tulle flow from the waistline of the Tulle Skirt. The embroidered skirt features Tiana’s signature along with a water lily at the waist. Pair with the earrings, necklace, and reversible hat. The outfits are perfect for twirling your way through the park or dinner on the town.
Tops
Next, we have a few tops. The collection included two button-down shirts, a short sleeve Tiana T-shirt with yellow ringer neckline, a Sunshine yellow hoodie, and a letterman’s jacket. Color Me Courtney adds so many little personal touches to the clothing. Several of the Varsity type items have “09” on them indicating the year the film was released. Other common phrases include “Dreams Made Real” and “Almost there”.
Accessories
Last, is a conglomeration of accessories. From pins to pouches, from coffee cups to purses these accessories are spot on! Nothing takes center stage like the Tiana Minnie ears! Crafted in sage green velvet, the ears are accentuated with faux pearls. Silk flowers form a Tiara in the center.
