I remember running to the TV as a little girl to tune in to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Back then there were no DVR’s or VCR’s. Just real time watching of the floats as they made their way down the streets of New York City. The love affair with the pomp and circumstance continues to this day. Even more so this year! Our eyes will be glued to the tube as DCL Cruises into the Macy’s Parade.
A newly designed Disney Cruise Line float, “Magic Meets the Seas,” will sail along the route, along with a new performance starring all your favorite characters from Disney Animation, Pixar, and more.
The float features the many bows of Disney Cruise Line ships, with the upcoming Treasure as the main focus. Its maiden voyage will sail shortly after in December! The theme of the design is the growing Disney Cruise Fleet, including the five ships currently sailing and the three set to debut this year and next – Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Disney Adventure. It also showcases the unprecedented growth of Disney Cruise Line, which recently announced that the fleet will expand to 13 ships by 2031!
Mickey and Minnie, of course, captain the ship, with the companionship of their friends from the Treasure: Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Miguel, and Moana. Viewers will be treated to a musical number starring Mickey, Minnie and some friends from Coco, Beauty and the Beast and more. The finale ends with the new Disney Treasure Anthem, “Live the Adventure,” amid a crescendo of confetti filled excitement.
