Are you becoming a March Mad Hatter over the month coming to an end? We have one final look to kick off the curtain close on this month of Beauty & the Beast Disney bound looks.
If you missed our previous Beauty & the Beast Disney bounding looks or want a refresher, view the Red, White, and Belle; Mrs. Potts: Be our Hostess, Cogsworth: All the Time, the 2-for-1 special of Lumiere: Lights Off and Babette: D*st OFF, and Beast: Fur & Away.
I have absolutely LOVED exploring all of these characters’ nuances and discovering ways to bring their aesthetics to real life. It has been challenging at times but rewarding! Today we bring to you our Gaston: Into the Woods look.
No one’s slick as Gaston. No one’s quick as Gaston. No one’s neck’s as incredibly as thick as Gaston. No one’s got as big of a head as Gaston! He’s the love-to-hate-him of Disney characters. This handsome but macho lothario gets the spotlight this week for our Disney bounding look.
Show off those brawny biceps with a sleeveless red bodycon dress and add an orange dickey underneath to offer that colorblocking pop of orange. That will sure catch Belle’s eye!
While the bodycon style of the dress itself roots this look in femininity, keep a balance of feminine vs. masculine touches with an embossed leather belt to accent your waist. Black tights keep you covered as you traipse “into the woods” as the hunter Gaston that you are. All those hours on expedition, a hunter must wear comfy boots! We came upon brown leather with tan sherling boots that pair nicely with the masculine can-do touch of the belt.
What would a hunter be without his/her bow and arrow bracelet?! Why wouldn’t you feature a little bling on your wrist with those guns on display, after all? From Etsy, we discovered a red buffalo plaid crossbody bag that pulls the hunter aesthetic together. When envisioning this Gaston look, I knew I wanted to include a medley of bow and arrows and buffalo plaid somehow, someway. Featuring buffalo plaid in leggings or top wouldn’t work because Gaston is not known for this pattern; thus, the thought had to be carried out in nuanced ways, through the accessories. That’s why I stand by my theory that accessories are the end-all, be-all of Disney bounding.
We might not all be fans of Gaston but I’m a fan of this look.
