The live action Beauty and the Beast Hollywood debut premieres this Friday (or tonight in some theaters) and this week we have a “grey stuff” surprise for you!
If you missed our previous Beauty & the Beast Disney bounding looks or want a refresher, view the Red, White, and Belle; Mrs. Potts: Be our Hostess, and Cogsworth: All the Time.
Today we are presenting a 2-for-1 Disneybounding line up with Lumiere and his Babette, the feather duster. Scroll below to see how we curated our Lumiere: Turn off the Lights and Babette: D*st OFF looks.
To capture the essence of Lumiere, we focused on his long and lean silhouette and his gilded glamour.
Every aspect of this Lumiere look offers a hint of gold, starting from head to toe! The curved candelabra-esque detail of Lumiere’s candlestick body is captured with these dazzling chandelier earrings. Lumiere is a Parisian garcon and when I think Parisian, I think of well-dressed hommes in bow ties. A sweet gold bow bracelet fit the mold.
Does this gold skirt look familiar? We featured it in our Mrs. Potts look as well. Talk about versatility! Now you can be two characters of the film. The body of the A-line flair skirt is similar to Lumiere’s fluted and pleated candlestick base. When paired with this gold sweater “vest” tank, the pleated look is maintained throughout with the ribbed texture and that long, lean silhouette we were aiming for is achieved!
With all of that gold, we figured we would offer a touch of champagne or white for contrast – even though there’s no such thing as TOO much gold! For shoes, we opted for gold-toed ballet flats with espadrille edge that are spring-perfect.
We didn’t stop there, fashionistas! We are also bringing to you the Babette Disney bounding look.
Like Lumiere, Babette is Parisian and as a featherduster and “maid” in real life when the curse is broken, she encapsulates classic black and white hues, along with textures of ruffles and feathers to accentuate her feather body.
To start off this look with movement, we wanted to kick up the dust with a large body skirt. Enter this black full length tulle skirt. This black piped off-the-shoulder Parisian blouse appears classic French and put-together maid.
Feathers are a facet of Babette’s featherduster self, thus, I think it is A-OK to feature lone feathers in the accessory details like this gold feather bracelet (but not a literal featherduster itself, do you get me?)! We decided to pair the tulle texture of the skirt with a black feather cape that packs the glam and, again, hints to her featherduster self.
And though these beauties may be hidden by the full tulle skirt, these grey suede poof feather sandal were far too adorable NOT to pair with this Disney bounding look. It’s a nice “surprise” when you do swish aside your featherduster tulle to show off your pedi and shoes.
