Summer is fast approaching and the weather is getting warmer. I am in the midst of planning a quick getaway to Walt Disney World and visiting Trader Sams so I am in a tropical kind of mood. When I think of Trader Sams and the Polynesian Resort, I think of luaus. Who represents a luau, in my mind, when I think of DIsney characters??? Lilo!!!!! Today we Disney bound with the lovely Lilo!
Let’s start with the color palette. I am picturing Lilo in her red and white dress but because we have made her Luau Lilo, we need to also consider her hula dress. Consider it an amalgamation of 2 of her most famous looks. We start with this green skater skirt. It is super fun to move around in and gives plenty of flow to learn the hula! We pair it with this stunning ruched cowl neck vest 2 in 1 jersey knit top in red. It’s a little risqué but it’s no more risqué than a bikini top! The shoes are these super fun green sandals that have the appearance of being made from grass! I’m guessing I don’t need to explain the bag we’ve paired with this look. It screams tropical to me!!! I love the flowers and the colors are perfect for this look. it also happens to be made from fabric FROM Hawaii!
Let’s talk small accessories. We obviously need to have a flower in the hair of this lovely Disney bounder. This is a fun hair clip that won’t give off the smell of a fresh flower but also won’t die and can be used over and over. The green leaf bracelet is a fabulous representation of the leaf wreathes people wear on their heads or the pattern you find on many tropical prints. The earrings are another amazing find from Beautiful Baubles. The color palette and the flower are a direct representation of our favorite little Hawaiian.
