This week I felt like we needed to represent an independent woman who is strong and true to herself. A fellow red head that we can all admire. This week we Disney Bound with the marvelous Merida. I can relate to this incredibly strong and stubborn red head and I think many of you can too. What does she do to relax besides shoot her bow and arrow and ride her horse? She relaxes on the weekend… at least, that’s how we picture her. Let’s take a look at Disney Bounding with weekend Merida!
We like to assume that Merida wants to leave her hair down and be super comfortable on the weekend. No corsets or tight dresses for her! We stuck with the green and rust color palette that Merida is most famous for. With the cold spell that we are experiencing, we opted for a warmer look. Let’s face it, it’s cold in Scotland right now! We started with a pair of tights with this fabulous criss cross, or tartan, pattern if you will. We paired that with an off the shoulder, comfortable top that will be perfect for lounging or looking fabulous while out and about. It even has a band at the bottom which makes it more slimming. It also comes in plus sizes, which I love because that means more people can wear our look. If you like to singe the waist of your baggier tops, we found this belt that works perfectly.
Now, to work the accessories. This week I’m even going to list the boots here because the are an accessory that will go with a million outfits. The relaxed, flat brown boots are perfect for a relaxing weekend. A matching brown handbag, that will hold all the items you will need to enjoy a relaxing day out, is also in order. It is cold, as we mentioned, so a rust scarf is a necessity. In her hair, we imagine she would want to pull a part of it back, so she can aim better when she practices shooting her bow. A brown hair pin would be perfect.
Let’s talk jewelry. The ring is a gold arrow! It’s genius! The earrings are quite possibly my favorite thing to tie this all together. These are from Beautiful Baubles! They are rust and emerald stones with gold and the pattern is Celtic, which is quite fitting, I thing they are stunning. Merida is my daughters favorite character. I sent her the great Merida’s eye look. She’s away at college and her sorority does a lot of events where they have to do it up.
