I am a huge history buff and there is nothing that I love more than Disney history. That’s why when I saw this Disney Discovery, the People Behind the Disney Parks Book on Amazon, I added it to my shopping cart right away.
This book left me in awe. While it’s true that it all started with a man and a mouse, there are so many other people involved that really brought Walt’s vision to life. From the planners and developers that helped to create the parks, to the caretakers who maintain them. There are just so many people involved. I didn’t even think about artists and business people, but I really should have. The parks really are works of art. And business people are needed to make sure that the parks are financially stable. They also help to make sure that the parks are running like clockwork every day.
The book itself is also a work of art. The cover has exquisite, watercolor-looking pictures of Disneyland and Disney World. The headings on the interior are in classical Disney fonts. There are even pictures of the parks as they are coming to life! My favorite photo has to be of the castle as it comes together piece by piece!
