Tuesday Disney unveiled the new revamping of the Disney Store website. The site is now called shopDisney, and offers a new shopping experience. Fans have long shopped Disney products to create their own stories with fashion, home goods, and more.
Not only has the look of the site been updated, but there will now be interactive involvement and video options woven into the Disney retail experience. The merchandise has expanded, and now many new collaborations and brands are available online. The new contemporary design promises to be easier to navigate, and seamlessly shop while delivering an immersive experience of storytelling and imagination. I will say that seems true for the mobile version of the site. However, many are not so sure about the seamless and easy navigation of the new desktop version of the site.
More online products are available, with a wide range of Disney, PIXAR, Star Wars, and Marvel merchandise. On top of that, more exclusives, hard to find items, Disney Parks merchandise, and more collaborations are also promised. Disney has been on the trend of broadening the store’s audience from more than just children’s products for a few years now. This seems like the next step in appealing to kids and adults alike.
In addition to the new website, the stores will be feeling the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo of the remodel magic wand soon too. The new remodel and design is being tested at the two California stores already, as well as in Nagoya, Japan, and Shanghai. Munich and Miami are slated to be redesigned later this year. The newly designed stores will feature a smaller selection of items, with employees and displays enticing consumers to find more expansive collections online for all ages. New interactive features and videos will also be coming to the Brick and Mortar stores as well. This is something that I see will add to the seamless vibe they are looking for.
I do hope that if there is less selections in the stores, with the cast members and signage pushing you to go online that shopDisney looks into better shipping charges. Maybe a lower minimum for free shipping, or a flat rate.
Have you checked out the new site yet? What’s your opinion of the new shopDisney Shopping Experience?
