UNIQLO has a long history with Disney collaborations. It seems like I write about their multiple partnerships at least a couple times a year! This year, UNIQLO and Disney Pixar joined forces to host the Global T-Shirt Design Competition. This year’s theme was “friendship” and the competition received 3,294 submissions from all around the world.
The designs feature classic characters from the Disney Pixar films UP, Monsters University, Toy Story, Cars, and Finding Nemo. T-shirts are available in men’s, women’s, and kid’s size, but are only available for a limited time.
There are a ton of designs in both the men and women’s collections, I am only highlighting my personal favorites here, but you can head to UNIQLO to check out all the designs and pick up your favorites! For a limited time, online orders are 2 for $19.90.
As always, ladies first…
These are few of my favorite winning designs for the women. I really love the Monsters Inc. door print. It’s such a great tribute to the original film and the bright colors really pop against the solid black tee. I also really like the t-shirt of Mike and Sully making a bit of a painting mess. I think this design highlights their friendship (the them of the competition) and shows their playful sides.
For fans of UP (I mean, who isn’t?!), the balloon shirt is must have! Russel and Carl may be an unlikely friendship, but they stick together when times are tough.
On to the Men’s collection…
The first shirt features Buzz Lightyear and Woody. What I love about this design is that is shows that even though two people can be separated by miles and distance, true friendship will last. Or maybe it’s just a really cool t-shirt design and I’m reading into it too much?
My second favorite shirt in the Finding Nemo MINE design. I mean, who hasn’t quoted this part of the movie a million times? The bold graphics are great for making a statement and showing your Pixar pride.
These were just a few of my favorite shirts from this year’s competition. Head over to UNIQLO’s site to check out all the designs and leave me a comment to let me know which ones you are loving this year.
