I am an avid runway watcher. I think this is not exactly going to come as a shock to any of you. When I saw the most recent collection from Moschino, I nearly died. These Disney Princess gowns are positively to die for. Forget a wedding dress, I want one of these!
Moschino is an Italian design label with an American designer at the heart of it, Jeremy Scott. He is well known for creating fun fashion and using American pop culture as inspiration. Is it really any surprise that Disney has made it’s mark on the current collection?? There are 3 Disney Princess inspired gowns that made an appearance in his SS16 show.
This is the Belle inspired gown. It is so easy to tell with the large ball gown design and the red rose on the shoes! I feel like this takes the costume out of Belle’s dress and makes it more haute couture.
Cinderella has her own inspired gown. See the red on the sides? This is a 50s style lipstick detail. It may not be from Cinderella itself but you can see the inspiration in the above, side by side pictures.
This is my absolute favorite!! This one looks to me to be inspired by Sleeping Beauty, in her stunning pink gown. I swear, if I could get this dress, this would be my wedding dress. Hands down. I have seen it also compared to the gown Cinderella wears with the bow in front, made by the birds and mice. I guess it could be either one but, since Cinderella already has a gown, I’m saying this one is for Sleeping Beauty. If anyone knows how I can get my hands on this one, please let me know.
