Yesterday, Disney revealed the latest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet: The Disney Treasure! If you missed the reveal, there is no reason to jump ship! We have all the details and everything you need to know about this new magical offering. Guests will be able to explore the colorful world of Coco, navigate through the jungle, and travel to fathoms below – all while sailing on a magical Disney Cruise, debuting in December 2024!
New Dining and Entertainment Options Onboard the Disney Treasure
Two of the things that I love most about going on a Disney Cruise are the dining options and entertainment experiences. These will be in abundance onboard the new ship! Inspired by Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, Guests will be immersed in heartfelt adventures through two all-new venues.
Plaza de Coco
You’ll have no problem remembering your vacation memories! Plaza de Coco will be the first theatrical dining experience themed to the Disney and Pixar film, “Coco.” This theater-in-the-round entertainment venue will feature a central stage surrounded by dining tables, with performances and show effects that will spread throughout the room. This “theater-in-the-round” entertainment venue is similar to what we have now onboard the Disney Wish during the Frozen dining experience.
From Disney Parks Blog:
On the first night, the story of Miguel and his familia will continue where it left off in the film as they gather in Mariachi Plaza to take your family on a colorful, music-filled journey, including a dinner featuring modern twists on traditional Mexican fare and a lineup of live entertainment. Your family will be invited to join Miguel, his parents, Enrique and Luisa, and Abuelita Elena for a festive gathering that honors the heritage of music and love that runs deep in the Rivera family.
During this seven-night cruise, you will get not one, but two chances to visit this new family dining venue! During your second night at Plaza de Coco, Miguel will reunite with his great-great-grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, as he transports them to the town square in Santa Cecilia with the help of his magic guitar. Together, Miguel and his ancestors will celebrate Día de los Muertos – Rivera family style – with a unique lineup of memorable songs from the film.
Worlds of Marvel and 1923 will round out the family dining rotation on the Disney Treasure, while The Rose, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament will continue to wow adults with exceptional views, gourmet meals and tantalizing beverages.
Jumbeaux’s Sweets
How anyone can still be hungry after a meal with Disney Cruise Line, I will never understand. However, if you are craving something sweet, you’ll definitely want to check out the newest sweetshop: Jumbeaux’s Sweets. This new offering is reminiscent of the ice cream parlor featured in Disney’s “Zootopia.” In fact, you can even find larger than life statues of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde inside! Your family can indulge in more than 35 flavors of handmade gelato, ice cream and sorbets, specialty treats, candies and more.
My son is a big fan of Zootopia and an even bigger fan of ice cream, so I know that we will be spending quite a lot of time here!
Stage Productions to “Wow!”
While many of Guest’s Disney Cruise Line favorites will return to the Disney Treasure, there will also be an all-new stage production! While those exact details have not yet been released, I know it is going to be amazing!
Also coming to the Walt Disney Theatre, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” will thrill audiences with tales as old as time. On the upper decks, Guests can enjoy music and fireworks during the swashbuckling Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party.
Disney Theme Parks Adventures at Sea
For those who have a serious love of Disney, taking a “land and sea” Disney vacation is a dream come true! Now, the Disney Treasure takes this concept one step further. For the first time ever, the nostalgia and lore from beloved theme park attractions will come to Disney Cruise Line with a unique lineup of all-new Disney Parks-inspired venues.
Skipper Society
Make sure to plan a visit to the Skipper Society. This themed lounge near the Grand Hall will bring Disney Parks’ iconic Jungle Cruise attraction to sea for the first time. While you won’t be visiting the backside of water, you will be able to take in the venue’s natural colorways and camp-style furnishings. Of course, there will also be plenty of nods to the dry-witted skippers and punny jokes for an elevated, playful atmosphere.
You can discover references to the famous attraction throughout the space, from a whimsical monkey-shaped chandelier to postcards and luggage tags brought back from travels abroad, all while snacking on themed cocktails and light snacks beneath a canopy of untamed jungle foliage.
If we continue to compare this new shop to the Disney Wish, this looks to be similar in location and style as Tiana’s Bayou.
Periscope Pub
Are you ready for a bit of nostalgia? This next venue brings Walt Disney’s 1954 film, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” to life! The pub is a celebration of the iconic Disney Parks attraction that was open at Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994.
The design of the submarine-style interiors will call upon 19th century steampunk influences with polished metals and industrial touches. A mysterious window into the depths of the uncharted oceans along the ceiling will give you a chance to feel like Captain Nemo on the Nautilus, while a decorative statement rug in the center of the space will honor Captain Nemo’s fabled nemesis, the giant squid. This casual venue will be the ideal onboard location to unwind and watch live sports or news, while ordering from a menu of craft brews and light bites.
Tomorrow Tower Suite
If you are still craving a bit of the Disney Parks while at seas (and have a large budget at your disposal), you will definitely want to check out the Tomorrow Tower Suite! This one of a kind suite captures the same forward-thinking mindset that inspired the Walt Disney World Resort theme park, EPCOT.
Throughout the suite, dynamic art pieces, molten metal accents and futuristic, colorful glass accents will evoke the distinct atmosphere of EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood. Set high in the ship’s forward funnel, this one-of-a-kind suite will overlook the top deck of the Disney Treasure and glimpse the open horizon through an expansive two-story window. With nearly 2,000 square feet of living space, the Tomorrow Tower Suite will comfortably sleep eight guests and feature areas for eating, sleeping and playing, as well as other perks like a full kitchen and private ensuite elevator.
Attention to Detail Captures Classic Disney Adventures
Throughout the Disney Treasure, timeless Disney characters and their unforgettable stories of exploration will inspire reimagined spaces.
The Grand Hall
Embodying the ship’s theme of adventure is the Grand Hall! This stunning space is where you enter the ship and will feature décor that calls on the gilded palace and wonder of Agrabah from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic tale, “Aladdin.” The space will serve as the ship’s most prominent gathering space and will offer its own dedicated entertainment moments and surprises.
Just as Guests currently gather in the Grand Hall onboard the Disney Wish to make their own wish, I am sure that a similar ceremony will take place here! I can’t wait to see what Disney Cruise Line has in store for us!
Heihei Cafe and Jade Cricket Cafe
If you feel a little bit like Heihei before your morning coffee, or you’re looking to add a little luck to your Bingo game, you’ll want to check out the two casual walk-up cafes. They will serve a selection of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages and snacks. Of course, these cafes need to have a theme as well!
Heihei Café will echo the scalloped seashells and reflective blue waters of the storied Southern Pacific Isle of Motunui as it is portrayed in Disney’s animated feature “Moana.” Meanwhile, the Jade Cricket Café, inspired by the classic Disney film “Mulan,” will honor the Fa Family’s “lucky” cricket, Cri-Kee, who will be represented by a jade sculpture on the bar top.
Sarabi
Onboard the Disney Wish, we have The Luna Lounge. Now, onboard the Disney Treasure, we have Sarabi! This venue will be a central hub for a multitude of daytime activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. With beautiful theming, Sarabi will evoke the natural beauty and openness of the savanna where its namesake, the lioness matriarch from Disney’s “The Lion King,” lived.
AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg
While the Disney Wish gave us Disney Cruise Line’s first attraction at sea, the adventure continues onboard the Disney Treasure Cruise with AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. This water ride will plunge guests into the world of Mickey Mouse animated shorts. Suspended high above the upper decks, powerful jets will propel two-person ride vehicles through 760 feet of winding tubes, offering breathtaking views of the ocean and the ship below. It will also introduce an all-new storyline that follows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on a zany misadventure into an ancient temple for a glimpse of the legendary treasure within.
Luxury Accommodations
After playing all day (and most of the night as well), you are eventually going to get tired and need a place to sleep. However, these are no ordinary staterooms! The 1,246 staterooms will be inspired by classic Disney tales of adventure. These accommodations will feature, custom artwork and design elements that evoke the exploratory spirit of beloved Disney and Pixar films including “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” “Up” and “Encanto.” The concierge and royal suites will bring to life the incredible character journeys – and some beloved feline sidekicks – from “The Lion King,” “The Jungle Book” and “Aladdin.”
Can you believe that this has just been a small glimpse into the new spaces, stories, and experiences coming to the Disney Treasure? I cannot wait to check out this ship! It will embark on its maiden voyage, a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida, on Dec. 21, 2024, followed by an inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.
Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members can book a Disney Treasure cruise as early as Sept. 12, 2023, and bookings will open to all guests on Sept. 20, 2023.
