The launch of the Opening Ceremony collection “Mickey, the True Original” debuted with a Spring 2018 runway show, entitled “The Happiest Show on Earth,” at the iconic Disneyland in California! This runway show was which-by none other than Mickey Mouse, the True Original who celebrates his ninetieth anniversary this year.

The collaboration served as the launch of “Mickey the True Original”—a global celebration of Mickey’s heritage, personality, and status as a pop-culture icon. The campaign will come to life through fashion collaborations with other true original brands, as well as engaging content and events that embrace Mickey’s impact on the past, present and future. The event also marked the first fashion show at Disneyland in over 40 years.
On March 7th, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon of Opening Ceremony showcased their spring 2018 collections and revealed their Disney collaboration inspired by Mickey at Disneyland! Celebrity guests included Chance the Rapper, Diplo, Maya Rudolph, Justine Skye, Chloe X Halle, Lucky Blue Smith, Piper Blue Smith, Sabrina Carpenter, Tallulah Willis and more!
