DisneylandForward Just Announced as Disneyland’s Newest Expansion!

Disneyland just dropped huge news about an upcoming project called DisneylandForward! 

The newly launched website states that DisneylandForward is a “multiyear public planning effort with the City of Anaheim.” Disney has historically faced challenges with growth in Anaheim. Disneyland and California Adventure, as well as Downtown Disney, have definitely had to use the available space creatively! (If you haven’t seen it already, “The Imagineering Story” is a great watch on Disney+. It goes into depth about Disneyland’s challenges through the years.)

Possibilities for DisneylandForward

The website also states, “Disneyland Resort is facing planning restrictions that limit its ability to bring new experiences to the Anaheim Resort.” It then goes on to say that “jobs and new lands and adventures” in Anaheim would be the result of Disneyland Resort’s growth. The website mentions the Tokyo DisneySea and Shanghai Disneyland additions (like Zootopia, Neverland and Arendelle) as some of the possibilities for the expansion.

This expansion is in the earliest stages, and that means no specific details are available (yet!). This project reminds me of Walt Disney’s famous quote, “Disneyland will never be completed.
