The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is almost here, and what better way to “kick” it off than, with the release of new KICKS! The runDisney New Balance shoes of 2015 have been revealed, and they are nothing like we expected!
We were expecting (or maybe just REALLY really hoping!) a gorgeous princess shoe to ring in the new running year with, but Disney went with a retro twist on our favorite Disney couple; Mickey and Minnie. The Mickey and Minnie shoes are inspired by their roles in the classic Steam Boat Willie. The monochromatic color scheme boasts the nostalgic feel of the Black and White cartoon. The white soles are adorned with dainty musical notes, and hidden Mickey’s hide inside. There is a cute silhouette of each character on the outer heel of their respective shoe, as well as their famous signatures emblazoned on the other side. The 990v3 New Balance shoes will be available for the first time at this weekend’s runDisney Health and Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Although we were hoping for a shoe that gave us a splash of princess color, these won’t be so hard to match an outfit to. If you still long for the vivid shoes of 2014, rejoice for there will be a limited number of the 860v4 Sorcerer Mickey and Pink Minnie, as well as the 890v4 Goofy and Cinderella shoes will be available at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and at the Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Resort, January 15 – 18.
The Retro Mickey and Minnie shoes will only be available at the runDisney expos during runDisney event weekends. If you are a runner it is highly suggested to sign up at NBvirtualqueue.com to enter the virtual queue to reduce wait times. If you are a runner you can do this a day before the queue opens up to the general public before runDisney events.
