We love a good Disney style tip and fashion blogger Claude-Alicia Guerin-Roy of Conscience Coupable has all of the tips! She is the master of taking vintage Disney pieces and transforming them into totally wearable street style looks.
Guerin-Roy likes to shop at flea markets, vintage stores, and her parents forgotten fashions to put together her looks. “I fell in love with this Minnie Mouse baseball jersey my father used to wear while watching the parade at Walt Disney World. It makes a great statement tucked into high-waisted jeans. This varsity jersey feels rooted in sportswear, and is an easy way to show off my tomboy aesthetic, while still representing one of my favorite fashion icons!” Guerin-Roy said on Disney Style.
I like how Guerin-Roy pairs vintage pieces like this baseball jersey with updated and modern accessories. Check out her Minnie Mouse phone case peaking out from behind the perfectly paired cross-body purse.
Who hasn’t seen a sweatshirt like this at your local thrift shop? Well if you live in Michigan your probably haven’t, because I buy them all. Sorry I’m not sorry. But, if you are lucky enough to stumble across one of these hidden gems, take a cue from Guerin-Roy and pair with distressed denim for a completely Disney classic look.
One of my favorite looks that Guerin-Roy put together was this edgy and fashion forward take on vintage overalls. “I found these old-school denim overalls in a flea market in Amsterdam, and needless to say, it was love at first sight. I describe overalls as my second skin and adding a pair starring Mickey Mouse to my collection felt like a blessing from above. I styled it with a semi-sheer blouse to give the heavy denim look a lightweight contrast” Guerin-Roy said.
I definitely had a pair of Eeyore overalls just like this back in the 90s!
Another amazing style is tip is that vintage doesn’t mean uncomfortable. “One of my favorite parts of wearing vintage pieces is that you can buy things oversized. I love wearing baggier pieces to get that laid back, effortless feel that’s comfortable for the Parks—like wearing an oversized jersey as a mini dress!” said Guerin-Roy.
I like how she has styled with look with stacked bracelets and a modern bag.
Okay, I am in love with this jacket! Another find from her dad’s closet, this jacket is already ready to wear. Guerin-Roy layered it on top of a slip dress makes it warm weather ready.
“Dressing up vintage has always been part of my everyday wear, and implementing it into my Disney style is so much fun! It gives me a chance to reminisce fond memories of my family in the Parks while keeping my looks laid back and cool. Plus, there’s nothing I love more than to take a piece with so much history and to make new memories of your own wearing them!” Guerin-Roy said.
What do you think of the take on Disney fashion and style? Are you ready to scour your local vintage stores for new vintage Disney looks? Let me know what you think in the comments.
