It’s that point in 2017 where people are getting nilly willy with their New Year’s resolutions. Or maybe you’re sticking to it! All the power to you, fashionistas! 2017 has already brought us some stellar 2017 celebrity Disney Bounding looks and perhaps even more greatness is to come… But honestly, Disney Fashionistas, we’re just feeling a bit nostalgic for the gambit of 2016 celebrity red carpet looks.
We decided to take a look back at some of our favorite 2016 celebrity Disney Bounding looks. Today marks part one of the series – because 2016 was just that extreme with Disney Bounding!
Alicia Vikander rolled up to the 2016 Met Gala looking a whole lot less Manus x Machina per the theme and much more Jessie from Toy Story. The boots add some Western flair, while other celebrities opted for the standard stiletto. The scallop pattern, almost cow hide-like pattern, of the lower part of her dress also mirrors the scalloped edges of Jessie’s top.
Araya Hargate wowed at the Cannes Film Festival in this stunning metallic-accented and paneled sheer lavender gown. From the drapery and shapely sexiness, we thought she embodied Megara.
Emma Stone came entrenched in armor in this gladiatoresque dress at the 2016 Met Gala. Though the bust is low cut and the front of the dress features a high slit a la Angelina Jolie, we think Emma is looking ready for combat.
The 2016 Met Gala delivered a plethora of Disney Bounding looks! Claire Danes appeared at the same event donning this beautiful baby blue ball gown that is every bit Cinderella. We hope she didn’t leave her glass slipper at the ball!
At the SAGs, Emilia Clarke spun in shades of pink that only her fairy godmothers could have crafted for her big night.
Giuliana Rancic’s Emmy’s dress brought the sparkle and the texture that our dear Peach is known for. We like that Giuliana’s train acts as Peach’s arms, flowing and looking one with the ocean waves.
Taylor Swift’s orange and pink contrast ensemble at the Grammy Awards have us thinking of that gleaming Cheshire Cat! The horizontal cut of the crop top acts as a stripe. The flash of skin from crop top and slit in the high-waisted skirt nod to the Cheshire Cat’s naughty and playful side.
Zendaya looked every part the Queen of Hearts at the Met Gala, from regal crown, to color scheme of dress, to cut of dress featuring fun high to low hem. We love how her Disney Bounding is so youthful! Typically you think of the Queen of Hearts in a full gown, but Zendaya put a twist on it!
What do you think, fashionistas? Who did it best? Make sure to check out for our second post in the series on Thursday where we’ll be recapping even more of our favorite 2016 celebrity Disney Bounding looks.
