Yesterday, the Disney Parks blog announced a new addition to the International Flower and Garden Festival. A new topiary will be putting down roots at Epcot, for the time being at least. Appearing near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Groot to Join the Flower and Garden Festival!
Horticulture cast members are busy creating a young Groot to debut in World Discovery. He’s an obvious choice as he legit is a living, growing plant himself. The Flora colossus already is a merchandising fan favorite and sure to draw large crowds at the festival. As you remember, although he was adult size in the first movie, he sacrificed himself to save his friends. Through saving a sapling, he is reincarnated into the youth version seen in the topiary depiction above. He holds above his head, one of Star Lord’s soundtrack cassettes. Of which the music is featured on the ride.
There will be more than 70 Topiaries at the International Flower and Garden Festival. Also, Figment will appear in the newly opened World Celebration Gardens. New to the festival include Wish characters Asha, Valentino, and the Wishing Star from the movie “Wish.” Check out Mexico to locate newcomers Dante y Miguel!
