Fashion has always been one of my favorite things. I have always enjoyed fashion magazines, runway shows and, of course, shopping for clothing and accessories. I get very excited when my love of fashion and Disney collide. I get even more excited when the collision is created by a designing legend like Gucci. The Men’s Spring 2017 Collection features our favorite duck, Donald, front and center!
Did you ever think you would see Donald as the featured character of a Gucci Collection? I definitely did not. I suppose that was silly of me considering all the designer collaborations with Minnie and Mickey Mouse this year alone! The brand’s designer Alessandro Michele created a collection based on the cultural journeys of the mind. This included one of our most beloved characters, Donald Duck. Some of the pieces I am going to share are truly runway designs, meaning not ready to wear, and others are more wearable. For example, the Donald jacket above is fantastic!
Michele grew up watching the whacky adventures of Donald and his uncle Scrooge McDuck, which inspired him to add Donald into the looks. The picture with the 4 gentlemen has much more subtle, Donald inspired looks whereas the sweater vest above is more in your face.
We’ve seen Donald have his moments in the last year, especially with the NEFF collection, but this one is more up my alley. It’s high end, for the discerning fashionista.
