How We Celebrated Minnie At The Polka Dot Summit!

It was a sunny and absolutely beautiful day in Burbank, California for day one of the Positively Minnie Polka Dot Summit presented by Create and Cultivate. The day started with a goodie bag at check-in and a chance to talk to other fashionistas all rocking the dots their own way. The Summit was packed with tons of activities, photo ops, food and of course fun.

The space was split between an outdoor patio sitting area and an inside open floor plan. The outside area had plenty of spots to sit and relax, as well as Instagrammable walls and moments. We even had Minnie Mouse herself come out of photos in her custom look designed by Paige Adams-Geller owner /creative director of Paige. Not to mention a cafe that had all types of juices and drinks you could imagine.

The inside had four separate photo ops, all showcasing a different aspect of Minnie Mouse herself: Minnie is Classic, Minnie is Fashionable, Minnie is Bold, Minnie is Fun. What a fun area to take photos or even videos of the different aspects of Minnie Mouse herself!

One of the gems of the day were the walls that had different collaborations with Minnie and other designers, even a few that we hadn’t seen and are yet to come.

But possibly the gem of the whole event was having Jeff Shelly, Character Art Director for Walt Disney Imagineering and Global Product Creation, sitting and doing quick drawings of Minnie and all her friends. While he was drawing, Jeff was open to answering questions as well as sharing history about Minnie and Mickey!

Jeff went on to join the main stage to do a quick “How to” of Minnie Mouse herself as well as providing a fun history of the most fashionable mouse we all know and love. The main stage was also shared with Tone it Up founders for a fun workout, a panel who spoke about how to cultivate confidence inside and out, as well as Dr. Deepika Chopra who took some time to remind us that cultivating happiness is the secret to success. Last, but certainly not least,  the keynote conversation was with Lindsay Peoples Wagner, Editor-in Chief of Teen Vogue.

The Summit ended with laughs and a beautiful sunset. Bon Puf brought out the cotton candy and Mi Ran Kim joined Jeff Shelly in live Minnie Mouse sketching.

It was the most magical afternoon spent at the Polka Dot Summit honoring the one and only Minnie Mouse!
