LOOK OUT! There’s new Junkanoo Minnie Ears

Disney takes great care to honor the local culture of the areas they inhabit. That’s especially true with the newest island Lookout Cay, located in the Bahamas. Disney Cruise Line has introduced new Minnie Ears honoring a festival celebrated in the area. LOOK OUT! There are new Junkanoo Minnie Ears!

I was not as cultured as Disney, so I had to Google Junkanoo in the Bahamas. It’s defined as “vibrant and energetic cultural festival deeply rooted in Bahamian history and identity, celebrated through elaborate parades, music, dance, and elaborate costumes. It’s a major annual event, occurring on Boxing Day (December 26th) and New Year’s Day, with smaller celebrations throughout the year. Junkanoo is more than just a street party; it’s a powerful expression of Bahamian culture, a display of artistry, and a celebration of freedom and community.”

As you can see, it’s important to the locals therefore, we want to honor them for letting us enjoy their beautiful land with Disney. These ears are a small way to show appreciation and celebrate alongside with them. Their bright, whimsical design is on par for the style of the region.
