There’s nothing sweeter than a burst of magic with everyone’s favorite pal! Mickey Mouse is the start of this design, and he is prominently featured in a rhinestone pattern. In fact, this sweatshirt design is so sparkly, it would really be perfect for celebrating Disney100 this year!
Speaking of Disney100, I would like to take this opportunity to give a bit of clarification around this milestone. I was at Magic Kingdom yesterday and I overheard a few different groups discussing what the anniversary was for.
“How can we be celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th and its 100th at the same time?”
“It’s the 100th anniversary of Disneyland. But we will get merch here too.”
“It’s Mickey Mouse’s 100th birthday.”
Actually, Disney100 is the 100th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company.
Walt Disney started the company in 1923. Five years later, Mickey Mouse was “born” in 1928. Fast forward a bit, and Disneyland opened in 1955. Walt Disney World did not open until 1971.
Okay, now that the Disney history lesson is out of the way (and yes, I’m a big Disney history nerd), we can get back to this sparkling sweatshirt! It’s such a great style to wear during the cooler months at the Disney Parks. I was freezing at Magic Kingdom yesterday and would have LOVED to have this sweatshirt to keep me warm.
