What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks so much for offering!
My mom and stepdad traveled with us on my family’s first trip to Walt Disney World back in 2006 and in 2008. When she passed away unexpectedly in 2009, we knew our visits to Disney would never be the same. We treasure each memory shared with her and often think, “Grandma would love this!” Whenever we are at a Disney park.

My memory would have to be from our July 2001 trip. My now husband had just proposed to me on Main St and I was crying and my mom looked at me and said “Now what?” I showed her my hand and then she understood.

We were just going through pictures and one of my favorite memories would be when I took my mom and kids to Disney. This was our first time all going together and I was able to share all the wonderful Disney memories I had with my mom to my children and at the same time we were making new ones and my mom was making some with her grandkids which we still talk about over 10 years later. (My daughter got her on her first roller coaster at the age of 50…it was only the barn stomer but the look on my moms face…PRICELESS!

Beautiful merchandise!

My mother is a cancer survivor and while this year has been filled with many ups and downs, I am so grateful to have her here! This year has brought us even closer together as we have been able to bond not only as friends, but us as mothers has given us a deeper connection. I will always cherish our talks in which she gives me advice everything–from cooking and cleaning to school and helping raise my children. One of my best vacation memories is one in which she and I went away by ourselves–no dad, no sister–just she and I. In that time together we hung out not only as mother and daughter but as friends!
Stacey D says
My mom was a single mother raising three kids so money was always tight growing up. I was never able to go to any Disney park as a child and when I met my husband he took me to Disney World and after that I was hooked! I decided to save up and take my mother on her first trip to Disney World for her 50th birthday. We went on a mother daughter road trip a couple years ago to the most magical place on earth and when she met Mickey Mouse for the first time I may have cried a little…it was the best!
A.Hummingbird says
One of my ALL TIME favorite memories I have with my mom, is from when I was about 6 years old and we traveled to Disneyland. My mom loved dressing me in polka dots and it just so happened that the day that we ran into Minnie Mouse, I was wearing my white with pink polka dot overalls. We have a picture, of course, which helped capture that memory but it will always be preserved in our minds. My mother has been an outstanding role model, mother, grandmother and most importantly friend. She has battled cancer and won (6 years strong!), and I can only hope that I have her strength and grace. My husband and I are taking our 2 year old son in 2 weeks to Disney World and I can not wait to see the magic through his eyes as I am sure my mother was just as anxious when she took me to Disneyland. I am so thankful to have my mom!

I think the statute of limitations has past since it’s about 40 (what?!) years ago: so I”m going to rat her out: but I had my first frozen margarita at the Old Captain Jack’s in DTD with my mother – I was umm..13 (drinking age at the time was 18). I was the youngest of 5 – not sure if she had thrown in the towel by that point or things didn’t matter since we were on vacation – but it was VERY out of character for her LOL. but it’s a fantastic memory for me LOL.

I remember a few years ago when my mom went with me on the Tower of Terror- she was worried that she wouldn’t do well on it because she’s claustrophobic. However, the entire time on the ride, she LAUGHED her head off! Now it’s one of her favorite rides, and she still laughs on it! LOL 🙂
Kellie Werner says
Towards the end of our vacation, we were winding down after a long day at Hollywood Studios. My mother and I were the last two from our family who stayed in the park. We had dinner at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. We were both exhausted, but had the best time just the two of us.

We took a family trip in January (Disney Cruise then parks…so my kids could come too) to celebrate my 40th and my grandma’s 90th birthdays. Our birthdays are only 4 days apart and it has always been a dream of mine to celebrate our birthdays together (we live in different states). It’s hard to say one particular memory from this trip but one that stands out is my mom and me walking my grandmother out into the ocean at Castaway Cay. She used to be quite the swimmer and in calmer waters could probably do great. She needed us to help steady her. Seeing the ocean again was one of the things on her bucket list. :). We then celebrated with a fruity adult beverages on the beach. She also walked all of Magic Kingdom…at 90! One of the bus drivers had everyone on the bus sing Happy Birthday to her too. Great trip and great memories!

I went to WDW with my mom in 2000 (I was 12). While there we stayed at the Swan & Dolphin Resorts. What I remember most vividly are the nights we spent on the boardwalk visiting the little shops!
Kerry says
My parents could never take us to either Disneyland or WDW as children, but mom always made sure we got to see as many of the movies as we could. She bought us books, and even found these singalong VHS tapes with classic songs set to Disney cartoons. Now that I’m an adult, I’m taking her to WDW for her first trip this Christmas!

My Mom, my sisters and myself took a girl’s trip to WDW in 2012. Our first night we headed to DHS to catch Fantasmic! but right after we got to the park it started pouring rain. We took cover in stores until it let up a little. We decided to just brave it and headed into the theater. It was about 20 minutes before showtime. We hung out for maybe 5-10 minutes and then the announcement came: Fantasmic! had been cancelled. We all just looked at each other and busted up laughing and without a word stood up and headed out to the buses. Soaking wet. I so wish we would have taken the time to take a picture as we were, I’m sure, a sight to see. Mom’s leather shoes were ruined, but that is still one of all of us’ favorite memories.

We always go to Disney and bring mom and my husband’s parents as well as my sister and his brother. We make it a huge family event. It’s more fun and more memories and my little girls will always be able to treasure these times no matter how old they get. My mom and I have to take a “hat photo” whenever we are in WDW- it’s tradition! We will find any type of hat put it on and take the photo “modeling” the hat. We look forward to this each time we go and the photo’s bring us joy when we are away from “home”!

I’ve got so many memories of me & my mama. The most are at Walt Disney World. The trips riding down. Staying in the hotels. Going every other summer. Now that we are both older, she’s still taking me to WDW. She’s in a scooter now & the adventures are a little different since she’s in a scooter. She never leaves her Sequined Mickey Mouse ears at home or in the room. She even ran into Goofy & the trash can. I think it’s more fun now that I’m older. We’ve been to Hawaii & Texas & then I can’t tell you how many times to WDW. Plus she lives next door. It’s not all perfect, but it’s what you make it. She loves Cinderalla & Mickey Mouse & to travel. She put that in my genes.
Tammy R says
Hands down my favorite memory in Disney was stumbling upon the Fall Festival they were having. They had a bluegrass band and Mickey came out to dance with the kids. When he was done my younger son was holding Mickey’s hand and so Mickey lead him over to the craft tables to color Halloween masks. It was shockingly slow so we had Mickey all to our selves and my two boys were in heaven.
Michele Chasky says
My favorite memory is when my husband completed the dopey challenge.
Dena Peavyhouse says
Telling my husband we were pregnant with our first baby on Main St USA.
