Philanthropic retailer, Box Lunch, is back at it again with its upcoming launch of the Mickey Vacation Collection. Before I share a closer look at the new collection, I just want to tell you a little bit about Box Lunch and their mission. Box Lunch recognizes the importance of providing products that have been produced in a legal and socially responsible manner. So, in addition to requiring compliance with applicable local and federal laws, they also require all manufacturers and product providers to agree to adhere to strict standards for the production of the merchandise they sell. The standards include prohibitions of child labor or forced labor, treating workers with respect and without discrimination, and ensuring fair wages. Included in these standards, they require all manufacturers and product providers to ensure that:
· There shall not be any use of forced labor, whether in the form of prison labor, indentured labor, bonded labor or otherwise.
· No person shall be employed at an age younger than 16 years.
· Every employee shall be treated with respect and dignity. No employee shall be subject to any physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse.
· Employers shall provide a safe and healthy working environment designed to maximize prevention of accidents and injury.
· Employers shall pay employees sufficient wages to meet their employees’ basic needs.
Not only that but, with every $10 spent on their pop culture-themed product offering of apparel, accessories, home goods, gift and novelty, and collectibles, BoxLunch will help provide a meal secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
I know that the legal and social responsibility stuff isn’t necessary fashion related, but I for one like to shop brands who take a stand for something I believe in. Okay, now that you know you can feel good about shopping, let’s take a closer look a the Mickey Vacation Collection!

These Mickey inspired backpacks are a pivotal pieces to the new collection. I really love how they mixed up the styles so that there is really something for everyone! If you are heading back to school, the yellow and red Mickey Mouse inspired backpack is a must-have. But I have my eye on that gorgeous Minnie Mouse backpack! I would love to take that on my next trip to Disney.
