As we’ve discussed in the past, I know many of you are over Frozen. The reality is, it’s not going anywhere. So, if you can’t embrace it, you may want to stop reading this article. Just a head’s up. With that being said, I have an exciting new line to talk about that is being released in the upcoming weeks. The line is by COMME des GARÇONS, a Japanese design company, with a French name, that brings an interesting twist to the typical Frozen apparel. I love the fact that it’s not like anything we’ve seen before and that makes it completely fresh in my opinion. Allow me to share it with you.
Let’s start by emphasizing how different this collection is from anything you’ve probably seen, when it comes to Frozen. The designer has done a wide range of clothing designs over the years but this collection is mostly a tee shirt collection with some truly cool art work. Usually, COMME des GARÇONS is sold at department stores like Barney’s or Nordstrom. If you are interested in looking for some of these items in the upcoming weeks, my recommendation would be to start there or online.
This tee shirt has the white front while the rest of the shirt, including the sleeves, have a fun cartoon type feel with characters from the film such as Anna, Kristoff and Olaf.
This tee shirt looks a little more like something you could possibly find at Disney itself but I find the color scheme, the dots and the sketches of Olaf are a little different than the typical Olaf shirt.
This tee shirt is a classic white tee with 3 images from the film you might not expect to see. The castle, the sisters skating and the ice monster are not typical scenes you would see on Frozen apparel and that’s what makes it awesome, in my opinion.
I am saving my fave for last. I have mentioned before that I am not much of a tee shirt girl so this button up is more up my alley. This is a simple white shirt with black polka dots but the twist is the sketches of Olaf, Kristoff, Sven and the sisters, Elsa and Anna. This shirt may look a little busy from a far but I think it would be an awesome conversation piece.
There are a few other pieces in the collection as well but i am going to let you venture on over to your fave higher end department store to find them in the new year, if you are interested. I think this collection is perfect for the person who still wants to wear Disney apparel but wants it to be a bit more chic than the average tee.
