Disney Parks Blog announced DCL plans the debut of their newest island, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point this summer. As the fleet pulls into the island, Mickey and Minnie will debut fresh designer attire. The Bahama festival Junkanoo inspired the New Island equals New Look.
New Look
Characterized by bright colors, textures, prints, and patterns, their attire is dubbed Junkanoo Fun in the Sun by its creator. Mickey’s multicolored shirt utilizes two shades of green, orange, and yellow. Additionally, a zig zag print on the sleeve cuffs accentuates the diagonal color block pattern on the camp shirt. That pattern repeats on the bill of Mickey’s visor. Fashionable and sun smart? Yes, Mickey! You’ll particularly notice hints of natural elements like raffia reflected in his shoes, buttons, and hat. Bringing in the fun are the print shorts.
Could Minnie look more fabulous? I think not! Wearing an off-shoulder ruffle dress with matching bow, I dub her Festival Queen! The green of her dress is the same color as Mickey’s sleeves and the belt matches the trunk of his shirt. Find the zig zag pattern from his sleeves repeated at the waist and hem of her dress. Colorful orbs in yellow, orange, fuchsia and green accent her skirt. I especially love that Minnie perfectly accessorizes with a raffia purse featuring a local pineapple.
New Designer
Mickey and Minnie’s new joyful clothes were created by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. This isn’t the first time the Bahama native designed for high-profile subjects. Past clients include Miss Universe contestants, celebrities, and fashion models.
Finally, the rest of the gang got to see the new look and they loved it! Good thing, because Theodore Elyett revealed he’ll be decking them out too!

Nueva Isla, Nuevo Atuendo
Con la próxima apertura de una segunda isla privada de Disney en las Bahamas nuestros personajes favoritos necesitaran un atuendo especial. El nuevo look es llamado Diversión Junkanoo en el Sol y muestra a Mickey en tonos verdes, naranjas y amarillos con detalles de raffia, así como a Minnie en un vesitdo de hombros descubiertos en tonos como los de Mickey con lunares en amarillo, naranja, fucsia y un adorable bolso que celebra la piña.
