The original Disney Fashionista now has a new Instagram account, inspired by her very own style, @MinnieStyle!
Need more polka dots in your life? Well look no further for the first time ever, a Disney character is getting their own dedicated Instagram account, which will spotlight Minnie Mouse inspired look from the global fashion community. This brand new account will showcase Minnie’s signature style, and the continuing influence she has today in the world of fashion and pop culture.
The @MinnieStyle Instagram launch is part of a large celebration of Minnie’s iconic style at the New York and London fashion weeks, including a photo exhibit curated with model Georgia May Jagger. The events at both New York and London fashion weeks will highlight Minnie’s Iconic Style including polka dots, bows, and her very recognizable color palette. The first portfolio on @MinnieStyle will feature a series of inspirational fashion images, and well as giving behind-the-scenes glances at the events during September’s international fashion weeks.
At New York Fashion Week, Disney is collaborating with Refinery29, the leading digital lifestyle media company for millennial-minded women, and CONFETTISYSTEM, to create a room, inspired by Minnie Mouse, as part of 29Rooms, Refinery29’s interactive funhouse. The Refinery29’s interactive funhouse, will be a celebration of style and culture, which is open to the public in Brooklyn, NY on September 11 and 12. London Fashion Week won’t be left out though, from September 18 to 20, Disney and the British Fashion Council will host the Minnie: Style Icon exhibition. This perfectly Minnie exhibition, will also be curated by model Georgia May Jagger, and will bring together photographs from the 1930’s though present day. The exhibition will include an archive or imagery and sketches, celebrity portraits and fashion spreads. Images from the event will also be shared on the @MinnieStyle Instagram.
Georgia May Jagger said: ‘I’ve always been a Minnie fan so I’m really excited to be working on this campaign, showing how pop culture can influence fashion in a way that encourages excitement and creativity.’
