I am not sure how many of you will be attending the 24 hour event at Disney Parks on May 22-23rd but, for those of you that are, I am sure you are crazy excited for all the fun things planned. There are all kinds of special treats set to take place and, if you are going to be at Disneyland, you are also going to be there for the start of the Diamond celebration!!!! With all that being said, there is one other factor to the 24 hour event that many people may overlook…. shopping! Clearly I, the Disney Fashionista, am not going to overlook this important tidbit. I have compiled some information about hours, stores and merchandise that might help you out during the craziness that will be the 24 hour event.
Let’s first talk about hours for stores not within the Parks. At Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort, many of the locations have extended their hours to help out with those late night cravings. Why did I say it like that? All of the locations extending their hours involve food and drink! Here’s the list of the locations extending their hours:
- Starbucks: 4 a.m. (5/22) to 5 a.m. (5/23)
- Haagen Dazs: 6 a.m. (5/22) to 2 a.m. (5/23)
- Wetzel’s Pretzels: 6 a.m. (5/22) to 2 a.m. (5/23)
- La Brea Bakery Express: 4 a.m. (5/22) to 2 a.m. (5/23)
- Earl of Sandwich: 6 a.m. (5/22) to 2 a.m. (5/23)
- Jamba Juice: 6 a.m. (5/22) to 2 a.m. (5/23)
Let’s stick with Disneyland for a moment and talk about the special merchandise that will be available exclusively for the 24 hour event. This merchandise is even more exclusive because it is the one and only 24 hour event that will also be during the Diamond Celebration!! There is going to be an exclusive tee shirt and limited release pin with the creative 24 hour event slogan on it. What’s the slogan?? “Being up all night makes me dopey”!! I, personally, think this is hysterical because I am a night shifter and am always up all night!! I think it is super catchy and creative and I love that Dopey is getting his time in the lime light! This merchandise isn’t going to be on every corner in the Park so you need to know where to search. The following locations are said to be the main stores selling this limited edition merchandise:
- Disneyland park – Emporium and Little Green Men Store Command
- Disney California Adventure park- Elias & Co.
- Downtown Disney District – World of Disney Store
At Walt Disney World, there is less talk of what will be open late and more excitement about the food and merchandise that will be available. I will start with the merchandise because it’s quite simple. The only thing that has been released merchandise wise is the tee shirt. This summer is known to be the “Coolest Summer Ever” at Walt Disney World and this 24 hour event is basically the kick off. The spin off of this super cool summer is the tee shirt design for the 24 hour shirt combined with the “Coolest Summer Ever” campaign. Who better to represent this aptly named campaign than Olaf??? He is the star of the commemorative tee shirt for the 24 hour event this year.
As a lover of all things cupcake, I thought I would point out that there will also be a cupcake available to commemorate this super cool 24 hour event at Walt Disney World. It has Olaf proudly stating “Imagine how much cooler I’ll be in 24 hours.” I thought that was quite cute and, if I was able to be there, I would most definitely be trying one!
I know it’s not much but it’s all I’ve got at the moment. I think that both Disneyland and Walt Disney World want to leave some things as a surprise for the lucky people attending the 24 hour event. I am sure that no one will leave disappointed!

We are going the Thursday AFTER. Just can’t do the crazy crowds but can’t wait to see the new stuff/decorations/shows for the 60th!
