Are you looking for a good excuse to get our there and show off your Disney Street Style? Any chance to active and fashionable at the same time is a win in my book! Marvel has announced an new initiative that will allow you to get out there and have some fun while being fashionably Disney.
So just what is the #GrootDanceBomb Challenge? It’s a stellar twist on the idea of photobombing. #GrootDanceBomb Challenge uses surprise dance moves to spread “Groot-will” during Earth Month. We all remember Groot’s seriously awesome dance moves at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now, as Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 is gearing up to hit theaters on May 5, the Disney Conservation Fund is working to support forest restoration through The Nature Conservancy.
Marvel partnered up with YouTube star Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval to help take the #GrootDanceBomb challenge to the streets. And the best part is, you can take part in the movement! Now is the time to pull out your favorite Disney Street Style outfits and hit the streets to bust a move. Not a dancer? That’s okay, you can support The Disney Conservation Fund by just liking or sharing Marvel’s video starring D-Trix.
From April 18-May 5, like or share this video on YouTube or Facebook or post your own using the #GrootDanceBomb on Instagram or Twitter. Your participation will help plant up to a quarter of a million trees! Marvel and the Disney Conservation Fund will direct a $1 donation to The Nature Conservancy to plant 1 tree for each action, for a minimum donation of $50,000 and a maximum of $250,000. So dress up, boogie down, and help save the world!
“Groot was one of the break-out characters from Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, and has quickly become a fan favorite,” said Josh Silverman, Executive Vice President, Global Licensing, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “As we launch the toy line for the new movie, we’re excited to share the #GrootDancebomb challenge combining a little bit of fun and a little bit of doing good— just like the Guardians themselves.”
As you can see from the video, D-Trix’s #GrootDanceBomb video is interspersed with Easter egg Groot toy cameos from Funko, Jakks Pacific, Hasbro and KIDdesigns—all of which can be utilized as perfect props for your own dance videos. These along with other exciting Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2 merchandise are available now at major retailers and Disney Store and DisneyStore.com for fans of all ages to enjoy.
