We are counting down the days until this year’s Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic. Now, with the announcement of Friends of Fisher House Orlando as the 2023 charity beneficiary, we have even more reason to dine and shop at this year’s event.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic has named Friends of Fisher House Orlando as its inaugural charitable beneficiary for the 14th annual event, taking place Veterans Day Weekend, Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11.
The nonprofit organization will receive a monetary donation from the event, comprised of proceeds from event merchandise, raffle tickets and more. I was already planning on stocking up on event merchandise, but now, I have a great reason to shop; it supports an amazing cause!
The Orlando Fisher House, located at the Orlando VA Medical Center, provides free accommodations and resources for military and veteran families in several Central Florida counties while a loved one receives medical treatment. The organization will also be represented at the event, offering thousands of attendees an opportunity to learn more about its worthy cause.
“We’re honored to be the inaugural charitable partner of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic,” said John Karkovice (United States Marine Corps, Medically Retired) and Secretary of the Board of Directors, Friends of Fisher House Orlando. “As an organization passionate about our cause and composed of many veterans, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is a natural fit with Friends of Fisher House Orlando. We can all work together to make a difference in the lives of veterans here in our Central Florida community.”
The Friends of Fisher House Orlando nonprofit organization was established to support the 16-suite Orlando Fisher House at the Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona, in support of military veterans and active-duty service members and their families. The Orlando Fisher House is one of over 95 comfort homes across the United States built by the Fisher House Foundation.
