By now, you should know that we love the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic! This year, the event raised over $13,000 for Wounded Warrior Project, which just gives us another reason to love this annual event! We were at the classic and at the presentation ceremony this year to experience it all.
Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Donates over $13,000 to Charity
In recognition of National Veterans and Military Families Month, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin donated over $13,000 to Wounded Warrior Project, its charitable beneficiary for the 15th annual Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic.
Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Area General Manager Sean Verney presented the check during the closing of the two-night event to WWP Community Fundraising Specialist Lily Adix. The donation was comprised of proceeds from the event and is part of the property’s ongoing mission to give back to the community. During the presentation, the donation amount was thought to be $10,00, but more donations kept coming in, increasing the final total.
Founded in 2003, Wounded Warrior Project, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., helps veterans who served in the military on or after Sept. 11, 2001, and incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound during or after service. The nonprofit’s free programs and services include mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care.
“The support we’re receiving from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic helps Wounded Warrior Project honor and empower warriors in their communities,” said Brea Kratzert Todd, Wounded Warrior Project vice president of business development. “Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, warriors and their families never pay a penny for our programs and services.”
