I have been impatiently waiting for Finding Dory to come out since it was first announced. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen Finding Nemo, and I can already guess that I will love Finding Dory just as much. Last weekend, I found Finding Dory paper towels and bought up a few packets even though I don’t need more paper towels. No one else in my family appreciated the swimming fish, but I fully admit that they were for me to have a bit of fun while cleaning up.
We came across a better and definitely more fashionable way to show our excitement for the upcoming movie. Alex Woo’s Finding Dory collection is now available online. There are several necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to choose from.
Most of the pieces are elegant and simple. My favorite, however, is the more detailed version of Dory, which looks like her animated self. It is available in sterling silver, 14 karat yellow gold, and 14 karat white gold with diamonds. I would purchase the necklace in sterling silver. The animated Nemo is offered in the same colors, though the gold looks best, in my opinion. Matching chains in all colors come in 16 inch, 18 inch, or 20 inch lengths. Prices increase depending on metal and chain length, which is true of all the pieces with the options. The sterling silver necklaces are reasonably priced, at $148 with a standard length (16 inch) chain for Dory and $128 in the same material and at the same length for Nemo. For comparison, purchasing Dory in white gold with diamonds with a 20 inch chain will run you $1,038.
Keeping with the movie’s logo, several pieces are available with a minimal design of a fish cutout. A necklace, bracelets, a charm, and earrings come with this simple logo. As with the animated necklaces, the logo necklace comes with the option of metal and chain length, with prices ranging from $98 for sterling silver on a 16 inch chain to $1,238 for a white gold with diamonds on a 20 inch chain. The charm is available in sterling silver or gold, at $48 and $148, respectively. A blue cord bracelet with either a silver or gold logo charm comes in one size, at $78 for a silver charm and $358 for a gold one. A bracelet with beads and a toggle clasp with a single logo charm will run you $126 in sterling silver and $226 for gold. Silver logo earrings cost $118 and a pair of gold earrings cost $298.
For some reason, I’ve always adored silver more than gold. In this collection, I’m not sure which I love more, with the exception of Nemo, who I think looks best in gold. The rest could go in any metal for me. They’ve been beautifully designed and have made simple jewelry that any Disney fashionista could wear out without making their fandom too obvious. My favorites from this collection are the animated Dory and Nemo necklaces, closely followed by the blue cord bracelet. Any of these pieces would make an excellent gift for yourself or a loved one.
