Today, September 19th, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! That’s right, Matey! It’s time to pull out your eye patch and shop for some booty. There is no better place to find Pirate themed treasures than the Disney Parks. The Disney Parks Blog recently plundered the high seas of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in search of the best merchandise.
Of course, the easiest way to show your pirate-pride is by wearing a pirate-themed Mickey hat. There have been several different pirate styles throughout the years, which would make for an awesome hat collection. And, with the recent release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, ear hats aren’t the only treasure to be found.
For fans of Dooney and Bourke, you can still get your hands on the Pirates of the Caribbean design. The classic black and white pattern is perfect for any time of year. There are also plenty of clothing and accessory options for women, men, and kids. Go all out and dress like a pirate from head to toe, or keep things simple with one key piece.
There are also several different pirate-themed mugs including one with artwork created by SHAG. The SHAG mug was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland. Even though PoC made its debut half a century ago, it will always be one of my all-time favorite Disney attractions!
If you’re a fan of pin trading, baton the hatches! There are so many wonderful pirate-themed trading pins and accessories. This booty is so good, I don’t think I would be able to trade.
For an extra special experience, guests ages 3 or older can join Captain Jack Sparrow’s crew at The Pirates League in Magic Kingdom Park. At this location, Pirate Masters magically transform guests into a pirate, empress or mermaid while telling tall tales of sunken ships and buried treasure.
