My mom needed dog food this weekend so we stopped by our local Pet Smart to pick some up. The moment I entered the store I was mesmerized and distracted by the adorable display of Tsum Tsum Dog Toys! I ran to the display giddy with excitement, I don’t even have a dog, but my mom does and that counts, right? These are a limited edition item that came out around the Holidays.
There are lots of colorful characters to be found, and each one comes in three different sizes. Like the regular line, there is a small, medium, and large, but they aren’t quite the same sizes as the main collection. The small is slightly larger, with a thickness about the same as a tennis ball. The medium is probably about the size of a large bone, and the largest size is a good size toy for big doggies, that won’t be too big to toss.
There’s a nice mix of Disney and Pixar characters available, I saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Dumbo Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Stitch, Scrump, Simba, Nemo, Dory, Green Aliens, and Hamm. Also available that I didn’t see today are Jack, Sally, Cheshire Cat, and Scar.
These are not the same texture or feeling of regular Tsum Tsum toys. The dog toy versions have a much thicker material, and is smooth versus furry. The filling also seems to have more resistance to it, so it won’t be torn to shreds as quickly as a regular Tsum Tsum would be. They also have a SQUEAKER inside, squeak squeak!
I found these to be a relatively good price for dog toys as well, the smallest size is larger than the regular Tsum Tsum mini, and retails for $5.99. The medium sized ones are $8.99 which is about par for the course for dog toys that size. Lastly the largest size is $12.99, and it’s quite a large size and durable. For a Disney branded toy, I think these prices are very reasonable.
Gosh, I can’t get over their cuteness! I also have to admit after seeing these toys I went over to look at the adoptable kitties, bad move. I fell in love with the most beautiful, and special little kitty, but I wasn’t able to take her home. I was tearing up as I walked away. I decided to get my mom’s dogs a Tsum Tsum toy, which managed to cheer me up a bit. So far they haven’t managed to break it yet, always a good sign with them!
