Disney is definitely capitalizing on the sadness of Disney addicts everywhere with the merchandise that keeps being released for attractions that are leaving us. First, it was Farewell to Wishes and then The Great Movie Ride. Now, the Universe of Energy is about to be extinct but, not to worry, because you can remember it always with this new commemorative merchandise!
Similar to both of the releases listed above, this extinction merchandise includes a tee shirt, an annual passholder tee shirt, an ornament, a hat and a Tervis. It seems that they have found the exact merchandise that Disney fans are interested in.
This is the regular tee shirt, not the passholder version. It is olive in color and I LOVE that it has the old logo of Epcot Center on the bottom of the image. It has a very retro vibe and I dig that. You can find this shirt HERE.
This is the annual passholder tee shirt and if you like that retro feel, this is the shirt for you. Can I just say that I love the whole extinct in August 2017 concept. I mean, the attraction does involve the Dinosaurs. It is a clever little twist I appreciate. This tee shirt can be found HERE.
The hat is my favorite of all the merchandise. It has the same imagery as the tee shirt and it has the extinct line I appreciate. I wish I wore hats more!! This can be found HERE.
I really like the ornament with the exception of one thing… it looks like they were rushed in finishing these. It’s the same problem I noticed with The Great Movie Ride ornaments. It’s a shame because they are really the perfect way to remember this attraction, if you aren’t really into tee shirts like me. This ornament can be found HERE.
If there is any room left in your kitchen cabinets, perhaps this Tervis is the way to go. I literally have no room and am going to have to get rid of some of the ones I already have. I find that task impossible. This Tervis can be found HERE.
If you are sad to see the Universe of Energy leave us, you won’t want to miss out on these items. I have definite mixed feelings about the attraction going into extinction. I enjoy it and brings me back to my first trips to Epcot but I love the advancements we make when we get new attractions, as well.
