We are heading into the season of celebrations at Walt Disney World. Now, we are gearing up to celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month! Of course, that means entertainment, food, music, and merchandise! You know we love a great merchandise collection here.
Thank you to Disney Parks Blog for the information and photos.
Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month at Walt Disney World
From September 15 to October 15, Walt Disney World will celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month with #TogetherWeAreMagia.
Merchandise to Remember
Like I said above, we love a great merchandise collection, so I’m kicking things off with a look at the Coco collection you’ll be able to find during this year’s celebration.
Join the celebration in style with merchandise that pays homage to Disney’s Hispanic and Latin American-inspired characters that will be available at Walt Disney World Resort. A new collection of items inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Coco” will be available soon.
Just look at the amazing colors on that shirt! I’m already planning on different ways to style it for the season! Plus, I’ll stay hydrated while exploring with the new drinkware options coming soon. The Mama Imelda tumbler will be coming home with me!
Food to Celebrate
After shopping the new merchandise, you are sure to work up an appetite. Luckily, you’ll be able to explore the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, featuring several Hispanic and Latin dishes.
Guests can also discover treats across the Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort Collection hotels. The official Foodie Guide to Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month will be available soon. However, the sneak peek of the Encanto Cupcake looks amazing!
Entertainment – ¡Celebración Encanto!
We need to talk about Bruno! That’s because the limited time ¡Celebración Encanto! sing-along show has been extended so you can dance, sing and celebrate with the marvelous Madrigal family at CommuniCore Plaza Stage. Featuring beloved characters and songs from the film along with fun trivia to test your knowledge on all things “Encanto,” the show runs several times a day at EPCOT and is an absolute blast! You may even see me there with my kiddo dancing to the music!
Entertainment – Mariachi Cobre
Beginning September 15th, Mariachi Cobre will be performing on select days and times for a limited time experience in EPCOT. This is always a fun show to match. The music is beautiful and perfect to enjoy while sipping on your margarita.
Art Offerings
If you love learning about and exploring other cultures through their art, you are in luck! Hispanic and Latin American countries are filled with so many diverse cultures and Walt Disney World has several ways to celebrate.
Disney Springs’ Art Walk will continue to flourish with a new mural addition featuring beautiful motifs live-painted by Nicole Salgar, a Miami-based artist who depicts her Latin roots in all her work.
Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park can learn to draw Dante from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco” and meet Hispanic Pixar animator Ana Ramirez at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station.
Art enthusiasts can visit Art of Disney at EPCOT, where paintings, limited-edition prints, figurines and more will be available, with Artist Spotlights highlighting work created by Hispanic or Latin American artists. Some of the artists this year will include Pixar talent Gaston Ugarte, Ana Lacaze and Luis Uribe.
Eat to the Beat
A celebration isn’t complete without music to dance and sing to! This year during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, three iconic Latin artists and a fun Latin local Orlando band will grace the America Gardens Theatre stage during the Eat to the Beat Concert Series
- Luis Figueroa – Sept. 27
- Mau Y Ricky – Sept. 28-29
