Whoever is the mastermind behind Cakeworthy is a genius. They have an incredible way of making something from pop culture that was cool 10 years ago or more and making it cool again. They do this in a way that draws on retro vibes, rather than changing or updating something that was already cool to begin with. These new Cakeworthy Tees from Box Lunch are no exception! I’m looking forward to living in them this summer!
The Allover Print (AOP) Villains tee has got me feeling #Mood. The first face that I saw on the shirt was the Evil Queen’s. When I saw it, I knew exactly how she was feeling. I have the same look when people ask me a silly question. Hades looks like I do when I get up late and rush to sign on to Zoom. And Cruella De Vil walks in like she owns the shirt. The Alice in Wonderland AOP tee is also a great option. It is so colorful! I had a lot of fun just looking at it. I still can’t tell if it is a blue shirt or if Alice is just standing in the background. What do you think? I also enjoyed trying to count all of the Cheshire Cats that I could see.
There is even a DuckTales Tee! Huey, Dewey, Louie, and even Uncle Scrooge all stare out jollily from this whimsical tee shirt. DuckTales was a little bit before my time, but I have fond memories of playing a DuckTales boardgame that my Bama (Grandmother) got me at a yard sale. Cakeworthy kept the same animation as the old school DuckTales that I remember and I really appreciate that!
Finally, this collection wouldn’t be complete without a Disney Princess being represented. Lucky for us, Belle is here to save the day. While I don’t have this shirt yet, I do have the Beauty and the Beast dress that Cakeworthy released last year and it is very similar. I have had fun wearing it because people have come up to me to get a closer look and see every little detail that is on the dress. I would bet that something similar will happen when I wear this shirt. Many of your favorite Beauty and the Beast characters are represented on this shirt. I only wish that Sultan the dog/footstool would have made an appearance! But who knows, maybe I just haven’t spotted him yet!
