This week at work has been a real challenge. My company is currently going though a merger/acquisition and the integration workload has really been taking a toll on my stress levels. I am so happy that I have job security during this time, but the new challenges are something I have not yet faced in my professional life. We all have our ways of dealing with stress. I like to spend the day in bed with tea, a good book, and Netflix. My fiance likes to hit the gym and sweat off this troubles. My sister likes to run on the treadmill. Whatever your coping strategies are, you must remember that things will get better and you need to “just keep swimming.”
Finding Nemo is one of my all-time favorite Pixar films! Dory never fails to cheer me up and there are just so many quotable moments. In the film, Dory tells Marlin to “just keep swimming,” which at the time, seems a little silly. After all, they are fish! Of course they have to just keep swimming! But this part of the film has stuck with so many of us. When life gets you down, when you feel like you want to give up, you have to just keep moving.
